Since June 2020, as part of its mission to combat precariousness, the Fondation Partage has been preparing emergency food aid bags to supply social services and local associations, which then redistribute them to individuals and families in need.
These institutions include the Fondation Colis du Cœur, the main beneficiary: it receives almost 90 tonnes of essential products every month and provides food aid to almost 7,000 people every week.
With the end of the school year, the Colis du Coeur Foundation has highlighted a specific problem affecting the children it supports: the summer disruption of school kitchens, where some children are fed free at lunchtime, which creates an additional burden for many families already struggling to make ends meet.
To make up for this shortfall, the Fondation Colis du Coeur and the Fondation Partage are working together this summer to make and distribute an additional 1,100 emergency food aid bags per week, aimed at the under-12s.
Between 5 July and 28 August, one shopping bag per family and per child under the age of 12 will be distributed each week. The bags contain dried products, fruit & vegetables, eggs, milk and cereal bars, the latter kindly delivered by one of our partners.
This initiative is fully in line with the desire to help people in precarious situations, a joint objective of the Colis du Cœur and Partage.
