The FAO Liaison Office in Geneva, the Association ma-terre and the Fondation Partage got together to celebrate World Food Day 2024 on 16 October.
As in the last edition, a rally-quiz was organised at the Musée d’Ethnographie on the theme ‘The right to food: for a better life and future’.
Jeu de Piste: a question-and-answer game on local, regional and global food initiatives
With each organisation responsible for a different stand, the teams began the treasure hunt at the FAO stand, where they discovered local actions in favour of food security. At this stand, participants were able to find out about the actions being taken at global level to strengthen food security, the right to food and, ultimately, the transformation of agri-food systems.
At the second stand, manned by the ma-terre association, the players were able to answer questions about the various associations working with the association, which is also known as the ‘Maison de l’Alimentation du Territoire de Genève’, in order to raise awareness of the various initiatives being carried out locally.
On the third and final stand, the Fondation Partage presented its initiatives to combat food waste, including food recovery workshops, as well as figures on food insecurity in Geneva.
At the end of the rally, where everyone who passed by each stand received a stamp on their entry form, participants were automatically entered in the draw to win various prizes provided by the 3 organisations.
A fun way to raise awareness of food issues !
